Please note that we will not be providing hard copies of the book of abstracts on the evening and kindly ask you to bring your own copy or have it downloaded on your device.
All are welcome to attend the meeting. Attendance is free
IEMTA received a great response to our abstract call for our upcoming academic meeting on the 24th April in RCSI- we have selected 7 oral speakers and a record number of poster presentations. All authors should have received confirmation by the organising committee and if not please contact us on the email below. A book of abstracts will be made available online just ahead of the meeting.
Please find attached the provisional program and we would encourage all to attend as it promises to be a great night. We would be grateful if you could post the poster in your ED and disseminate the details to all who may be interested.

Final Call for Abstract Submission to IEMTA’s Spring Academic Meeting
The closing date for oral and poster submissions to the academic meeting is the 20th March. We would ask you to strongly encourage all in your department including medical students/ interns/ SHOs to submit an abstract. We endeavour to provide a friendly platform for trainees to present their work at a national meeting.
The scheduled talks promise to be engaging, stimulating and thought provoking. Our guest speakers include Dr Edel Duggan, clinical director of the national poisons centre, Dr Ike Okafor, Consultant in Paediatric Emergency Medicine and Dr Vicky Meighan, SpR in EM.
The meeting has been approved for 3.0 CPD points and attendees who would like to register for CPD certificates are asked to register their interest in advance to iemtaspring2015@gmail.com
The Internation Federation for Emergency Medicine (IFEM) was founded in 1989 and its purpose is “to promote at an international level, interchange, understanding and co-operation among physicians practicing emergency medicine”. IFEM has now established a Facebook page and a Twitter Feed @IFEM2

The IRFU have designed 5 new educational videos on the management and prevention of concussion for senior and junior players, family members, coaches and referees. These videos can be viewed on the IRFU Website or on the IRFU YouTube channel
We would encourage you to inform your patients and their family members of these videos.

Since the 2011 AGM the Irish Emergency Medicine Trainees’ Association (IEMTA) have officially become a sub group of the Irish Association for Emergency Medicine (IAEM).
IAEM have played strong representative and advocacy role for promoting and protecting Emergency Medicine. IEMTA derives its funding from IAEM and operates under its constitution.
There is no longer a separate membership process for IEMTA. When you join IAEM as a medical student or NCHD you will automatically become a member of IEMTA.

IEMTA will be hosting a social evening this Thursday (16th October) after the Code Black Film which concludes day one of the IAEM 2014 Annual Scientific Meeting.
The event will be in Whiskey Fair on Dun Laoghaire Main Street (WhiskeyFair.ie).
There is no entry cost for this event and finger food will be served, so we expect to see you all there! We need to get numbers for catering so please let us know if you plan to attend.
