IEMTA are delighted to announce their upcoming  Spring Scientific Meeting in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland on Friday 28th April 2017. Finalised details of guest speakers will follow very soon!

This is a fantastic opportunity for NCHDs and medical students interested in Emergency Medicine to presnt their case reports, audits and research at a national meeting.

Abstract submissions are invited for oral and poster presentations with forms are available below to download.

Spring Meeting 2016

TIEMTA Spring Programme 2016he IEMTA Spring Scientific Meeting is taking place in the Post Graduate Centre at the Mater this Friday!

Meeting kicks off at 18:30 with speakers starting at 19:00 sharp! With SMACC Dublin and EMS Gathering conferences taking place in June, we’ve decided to keep that theme for our meeting!

Call for Abstracts Spring 2016The IEMTA Spring Scientific Meeting will take place on Friday April 29th from 18:30-21:30.  This meeting is aimed at NCHDs and medical students interested in Emergency Medicine.

Venue: Catherine McCauley Post Graduate Centre, Fintan Gunne Theatre, Neslon Street – Mater Misericordiae University Hospital.

The closing date for oral and poster submissions to the academic meeting is the 20th March. We would ask you to strongly encourage all in your department including medical students/ interns/ SHOs to submit an abstract. We endeavour to provide a friendly platform for trainees to present their work at a national meeting.

The scheduled talks promise to be engaging, stimulating and thought provoking. Our guest speakers include Dr Edel Duggan, clinical director of the national poisons centre, Dr Ike Okafor, Consultant in Paediatric Emergency Medicine and Dr Vicky Meighan, SpR in EM.

The meeting has been approved for 3.0 CPD points and attendees who would like to register for CPD certificates are asked to register their interest in advance to iemtaspring2015@gmail.com

Full details of the programme will be available in due course. This meeting is aimed at medical students and NCHDs interested in Emergency Medicine. IEMTA Spring meeting is open to all free of charge.

IEMTA – AGM 2014

iemta_logoIEMTA’s AGM will be held on Friday (17th October) in the Royal Marine Hotel, Dun Laoghaire.  It will take place directly after the Leo Vella lecture, which closes the IAEM 2014 Annual Scientific Meeting.

Attached is the provisional agenda and the minutes of last year’s AGM. If there is any item you would like listed on the agenda please contact us.

We are actively seeking a representative from each year on the CSTEM to represent your year groups to work with the IEMTA committee to ensure that CSTEM trainees are adequately represented in all of our activities. If you are interested please get in touch with Dr Aileen McCabe.

Programme & Book of Abstracts – IEMTA Summer 2014

The IEMTA Summer academic meeting will being held tomorrow (Friday 26th June) in RCSI in the Albert theatre from 18.30. It promises to be a great night with great presentations and speakers. To whet your appetite, the official programme and book of abstracts for the meeting are available below.

Programme for IEMTA Summer Meeting 2014

iemta_summer_2014-programmePlease find attached the program for the IEMTA Summer meeting being held on the 27th June at 18.30 in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Please note that the meeting will now be held in the Albert lecture theatre in RCSI.

This year we had a fantastic response to our abstract call and there will be oral and poster presentations reflecting the work of Emergency Medicine trainees around the country.

Our Keynote speaker will be Dr Rachel Gilmore, Consultant in Emergency Medicine in Naas General Hospital giving a talk, “Audit and Research in Emergency Medicine- a North American experience”.

Dr Brigid Collins, Registrar in Emergency Medicine, Connolly Hospital will present a clinical hot topic “When ecstasy is too hot to handle!”- a clinical presentation that is very topical at the moment.

We will close the meeting with what promises to be an engaging and entertaining Room 101 debate with three of our foremost articulate SpRs in Emergency Medicine Dr John Cronin, Dr Alan Watts and Dr Andy Neil.

There will be a raffle held at the meeting in aid of Global Emergency Care Skills.

There will be 3.5 external CPD points available to those who attend the meeting. Please register in advance at iemtasummer2014@yahoo.com for CPD certificates if required.
